What is a Doula?
The word "doula" comes from ancient Greek, meaning "a woman who serves." Today, a doula refers to a professionally trained companion who supports another person through significant health-related experiences, such as childbirth, miscarriage, induced abortion, stillbirth, or non-reproductive experiences.
